How to Play Mad Snake

The fundamentals - controls, scoring, fireballs, the enemy snake, and how to climb the leaderboard. If you've played snake.io, slither, or any classic snake game, you'll feel right at home.

1. Step 1

   Master the controls

   Mad Snake gives you two control schemes: a responsive D-Pad and swipe-screen gestures. Pick whichever feels right. Both come with reversal protection - you can't accidentally turn back into yourself, so every input is intentional.

2. Step 2

   Eat apples to grow and score

   Standard apples grow your snake and add points. Limited-time green apples are worth 3× points but disappear if you don't grab them in time.

3. Step 3

   Use fireball power-ups

   Eat fire to load fireballs. Fire one to blast through static obstacles, take out the enemy snake, or clear a lane when you're cornered. Every flame is ammo.

4. Step 4

   Avoid the enemy snake

   From Level 4 onwards, an AI-controlled enemy snake patrols the board hunting the same apples you are. Stay out of its path or use a fireball to take it out.

5. Step 5

   Manage your three lives

   You start every run with 3 lives. Lose them all and the run ends. Plan ahead - and don't waste a life chasing a green apple you can't reach.

6. Step 6

   Climb the leaderboard

   Submit your high score to Apple Game Center to compete worldwide. Beat your previous personal best to update the local top-runs board.
